Search Engines
There are two ways for the millions of internet users to find your web page.
The first way to tell people about your web site location, is to include your web site location, or URL, in your other advertising. You should include it on business cards, brochures and other advertising campaigns. This is the most effective way to insure that your prospective clients find your page and not your competitor's.
The second is through one of the many "search engines" on the internet. Search engines are independent computers, or servers, on the internet which search through the internet for specific web sites. Once a web site is registered with a search engine, that search engine updates its database with information from the registered sites. This allows a
potential client to query a search engine for a particular topic and the search engine looks through its database for matching web sites. Each engine has its own time frame for running its updates, and it may be from one week to six weeks after your site is registered, before it actually shows up in their database.
Depending upon the competition in your field, it could take anywhere from 3 months to a year to get favorable placement on the search engines. Website promotion is something that takes time and patience and the more unique your keywords, the better results you will see. If everyone in your field uses the same keywords, it will be hard for you to stand out.
Promotion Service
WalterWorks, Inc. provides this promotion service of registering your web site with the top search engines for a one-time $50 fee. Since some search engines drop out listings each month, we offer a service to register your website with the same search engines every month for a year. This annual service is only $150. This is certainly the more aggressive approach to website promotion.
