Wells Fargo Logo Special Promotion for
Wells Fargo

Loan Officers

We, at WalterWorks, have designed a special promotion specifically for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Loan Officers. We have made it as easy and inexpensive as we can to help you have your own internet website. We have constructed websites for other Wells Fargo Home Mortgage offices and Loan Officers and are familiar with Wells Fargo's corporate restrictions on employee websites. We work closely with Wells Fargo corporate to insure that each website will be in compliance with corporate policies.

The following Frequently Asked Questions should help you with most of your questions. Please call or email for more information.

What is the first step in setting up my own website?

You do not have to have a complete idea of what you want your website to look like before you start. We have included a basic sample website which will give you a starting point for your website. You can simply fill out the order form and you will be on your way. We will take your information and create your website for you. Even if all you have is your business card, simply fill out our order form and we will have enough information to get your website up and running.

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is the name you give to your website. It will be www.YourName.com where "YourName" is the name you create for your website. It must be a unique name, so if the name you want is in use, you will need to come up with another name. As an example, our domain name is walterworks.com. You will need to come up with a domain name unless you wish to have your website located at www.walterworks.com/YourName.

What does a Domain Name cost?

WalterWorks will register a domain name for you. The fees for this are a one-time $45.00 setup fee to WalterWorks, Inc. as well as a $35.00 registration fee for the first year. This registration fee is charged to WalterWorks by Internic, which maintains the name list for the internet, and we pass the cost of your registration on to you. The registration fee is an annual fee and is non-refundable by Internic, so we will be unable to give a refund on this $35 fee.

What restrictions does Wells Fargo place on my website?

Wells Fargo does not allow you to display current interest rates nor take applications online. You may, however, allow the user to download a 1003 and fill it in and fax it to you. This is easy to accomplish and will save time for the user who wishes to get his application started right away.

There is some disadvantage to not being able to display interest rates or take applications online. Your competitors will not have that disadvantage. However, you will have the advantage of the Wells Fargo name and logo on your site.

How helpful will a website be?

Having a website will give you much more weight with a prospective client. It will promote you as an up-to-date, connected, service provider. You can add your website address to all of your promotional materials as well as your voicemail. That way, prospective clients can get information from you and about you from your website while they await your return call. You can give prospective clients as much information as you wish through your website.

How will people find my website?

There are two ways for people to find your website. One is if you add your website address to your marketing material, such as business cards, mailouts and stationery. The other is through the internet search engines. Each internet search engine requires that each website be registered before it will be added to its database. We would be happy to do that for a one-time charge of $35. We will also do monthly submissions for a year for only $125.

Won't all the loan officer websites look the same? How will I differentiate myself from all the other loan officers?

Yes, the sites will look much the same at first. The differences will come from the material you send us. But, remember, most of the people who see your website were led there from your own promotional material. They will not be seeing other loan officer websites.

The easiest way to differentiate yourself and your website is to send us as much information about yourself and the reasons you are the best in your field. As stated earlier, you can always start small and add later. Remember, this is your website. It will promote you. List your accomplishments and specializations and anything else which will promote you.

Okay, I'm ready to give it a try. How much does it cost?

The order form lists the costs involved in getting your website. Simply select "Mortgage Promotion" under "Website Type" unless you want a more comprehensive website.

But to summarize the costs for the Wells Fargo Loan Officer Promotion, they are:

  • Domain Name setup: $45 (one time fee)
  • Domain Name registration: $35 (first year)
  • First month hosting: $25
  • Website creation: $95 (for standard loan officer site)
  • Total: $200 startup, and $25 per month thereafter

The domain name costs are clarified above. The hosting cost is the fee to make your website available on the internet 24 hours a day. The design cost is dictated by the labor required to create the website and varies from $95 to $1500. For Wells Fargo Loan Officers, we will create a simple website for you for only $95. This website will look like the sample website mentioned below.

Our sample website will give you an idea of how simply you can start and what the base cost would be for the simple website. You can always add to your website as time goes on and you develop new material to add to your site. We can modify or add to an existing website for a nominal fee to cover the labor. Small changes, such as a few sentences or name changes, etc. are normally done at no charge provided the complete text changes arrive by email (see example). Additional web pages can be added for only $15 per additional page ($10 per page if emailed) - any graphic work is additional.

You can see the different website packages by clicking on Website Packages.

How soon can I see my website on the internet?

Your website will be on the internet in 2 to 5 days. Fill out the order form now! We'll do the rest.

Are there ways to reduce the design cost of my website?

Yes, since labor is the major cost in design, anything which will reduce labor time will reduce your cost. If you wish to add several informational pages to your website, simply email the complete text to us (see example). It is a simple matter to copy and paste to your website and will reduce labor time considerably over sending or faxing us paper documents. The greatest costs are in graphic design or creating images for your website. If you have existing graphic images you would like to add to your website, simply send them to us and we will scan them.

Can I make changes to my website?

Yes, if you see a website which has some feature you want to incorporate into your website, just email us and tell us the location of the website and which feature you would like. We will let you know what the fee would be to add that feature.

Text changes are very easy to make. Simply email the complete text that you want changed and we will change your website text at no charge. Please see the example of the best way to email your changes to us.

Other fees are listed on our Base Fees page.
